Exploring the Universe with Space Telescopes Wed 3rd December - Wed 3rd December
5:30pm - 7:00pm
We are excited to invite your child to a special free STEM event featuring an inspiring guest speaker, Alex Klein, a satellite instrumentation engineer who has worked on some of the world’s most advanced space missions. The event is suitable for young people aged 10–15 with strong interest in Astronomy and Science. The event will take place on Wednesday 3rd December at Mycenae House from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Alex has contributed to major astrophysics projects in both the UK and the US, including the Habitable Worlds Observatory (the future successor to the James Webb Space Telescope) and LISA – the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna, scheduled for launch in 2035. In his talk, “Exploring the Universe with Space Telescopes”, Alex will share the incredible science behind modern space exploration and the extraordinary engineering required to build telescopes that study distant worlds and black holes. After the presentation, the children will have time for an open Q&A where they can ask questions, discuss ideas and explore what it’s like to work in space engineering. This is a free event, but as spaces are limited, please only sign up if your child can commit to attending. We look forward to welcoming your child to this inspiring evening of space discovery.
